Mission Statement for RCSI Bahrain research:

To support and carry out world-class biomedical research and to integrate basic and clinical research, so that advances in medical science are translated as quickly as possible into patient treatments
To train postgraduate scientists and clinicians for internationally competitive careers in basic and clinical research.

The development of research at RCSI Bahrain is an imperative for the overall growth and development of the university. Current research areas include:

  • Obesity related diseases
  • Medical education
  • Non-linear optical properties of biomedical and optical materials
  • Neurodevelopmental disorders
  • Environmental studies including ecology, morphology and population dynamics of the avifauna of the Middle East
