How to apply

All applications for the Medical Programme must be submitted online. A non-refundable application fee of US$100 / BD40 is required and is payable by credit card at the final stage of your online application or directly by visiting the Student Fees Department in the university.

Upon successful completion, the applicant will receive an email confirming receipt of the application (Please note: admissions will contact you via email).

Essential documentation required for consideration for the programme is as follows: 

  • Secondary School Transcripts/Certificates (Grades 10, 11 & 12 to date if still in school, or final transcript with graduation certificate and certificate of good conduct).
  • University Transcripts/Certificates (if applicable).
  • English language qualification, i.e, IELTS/TOEFL certificate or test booking confirmation.
  • Copy of passport, including photo page (must 6 months in date from commencement of programme ie. September).
  • Copy of CPR/GCC identity card (if applicable) (must 6 months in date from commencement of programme ie. September).
  • Academic Reference Form/other references with predicted grades if applicable. (To print, please click here). This form can be sent in separately by your referee (please see form for details).
  • Personal statement (Between 500 - 1000 words) The purpose of the personal statement is to provide the Admission Committee with an insight into you, your motivations and your suitability for a career in medicine. You should consider explaining the activities you have undertaken in preparing yourself for a career in medicine. Please note that your submissions should be your own work and not that of anyone else. If any plagiarism is detected in an applicant’s personal statement, the applicant will no longer be considered for admissions to the university

These documents must be uploaded during the online application process (incomplete applications cannot be processed by the Admissions Team).

Please Note: Applicants should include their unique Application Reference Number and full name on their application in all correspondence with the University.


Following completion of the online application, including submission of all essential documentation, eligible applicants will be invited to the University for interview. The interview will be conducted by a member of academic staff and will assess the applicant's communication skills, maturity, motivation and suitability for a career in medicine. 

Following attendance at interview, Admissions will consider the application in full. It is the decision of the Admissions Committee to recommend applicants for admission to the appropriate programme for which they are deemed eligible. Candidates will be advised of the outcome of this consideration by email within two weeks of interview.

Application outcomes are as follows:

1. Candidates may be issued with a Full Offer.

2. Candidates may be issued with a Conditional Offer, i.e. pending achievement of conditions specified in the offer letter.

3. Candidates may be placed on a waitlist, which will be reviewed prior to commencement of the programme.

4. Candidates may be issued with a regret letter, indicating they have been unsuccessful in obtaining a place on the programme.
