Rufaida Honorary Society

The RCSI School of Nursing & Midwifery has formed the Rufaida Honor Nursing Society, and is working towards a full independent Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) in Bahrain and in the Middle East. The scholarly society offers a series of educational events with national and international keynote speakers. The focus of education and research activity is relevant health issues and nursing lead initiatives. Membership of Rufaida Honor Nursing Society includes nurses from the College of health Science- University of Bahrain, nurses from community settings and the private and public hospitals. Membership is open to both senior student nurses and registered nurses.


The Rufaida Honor Nursing Society is a prelude to the formation of a Chapter STT in Bahrain. Sigma Theta Tau is an International Honour Society of Nursing, established in 1922. it is one of the largest international nursing organisations, with members in 90 countries worldwide. The society promotes nursing excellence and scholarship through initiatives in research, leadership and community service to improve the health of the world's people.
