BSc (Hons) Nursing

The BSc (Hons) in Nursing is a four-year, full-time degree programme, which is open to school leavers. The programme aims to equip students with the appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes to become competent and caring nurses. It also provides a strong foundation for continued personal and professional development. The programme structure and content is aligned with the European requirements for nursing education including the Bologna Accord.

Clinical Placement

A fundamental aim of the programme is to develop competence in clinical nursing. In order to facilitate the development of clinical skills, student nurses are allocated to health care facilities in Bahrain, including King Hamad University Hospital; Bahrain Defence Forces Hospital; the Cardiac Centre; the Ministry of Health primary and secondary services including Health Centres; the Psychiatric Hospital and maternity hospitals, geriatric health care facilities and other community care sites. A number of private hospitals are also used for nursing student clinical placements.
